Pattie Vargas

Pattie Vargas

Amazon Best-Selling Author, Influencer

In 1995, Pattie Vargas encountered a life-changing event that set the course for the rest of her life and career. What could have resulted in a dead-end, bitter saga of mere survival instead led her on a journey to discover the difference between going under or pushing through. The lessons learned along the way sustained her through the loss of her son in 2017 to the complications of substance use disorder and the new normal of living with grief and family addiction. Anyone who has become accustomed to a long term marriage, a lengthy job tenure or just the status quo can relate to the shocking revelations that come with an unexpected jolt of reality. We may not be able to control what happens to us, but we certainly can control what becomes of us and how we can continue to serve others. This is how Pattie discovered The Resilience Factor. Pattie is an Amazon Best-Selling Author and frequent conference speaker on the topic of growing through change and developing personal resilience. Pattie holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Management and is certified in the use of DISC Behavioral assessments. She serves as the Chief Learning Officer for Connected Women of Influence in Southern California and is Corporate Trainer with The American Management Association. Pattie also serves as a State Lead with The Recovery Advocacy Project, as a National Ambassador with the Shatterproof organization and Parent Coach with The Partnership to End Addiction.

James Polus

James Polus

Author and Writer

"Born and raised in a small upstate New York village, I was the third and last-born child behind a brother and sister. A small insignificant detail, one might say, but I believe being the youngest blessed me with all the disadvantages any kid would want: independence, ambition, and self-reliance, as my parents were too busy running a small luncheonette to worry about me. Growing up in small town America in the fifties was as Americana as you could get. In our local world, kids from other schools a mile away seemed different and foreign.
In 1974, I joined IBM, the most global corporation in the world. Marriage to the perfect woman, Noreen, brought four children, an amazing family sharing a collective desire to live overseas. Ultimately, senior executive positions permitted life in Paris for four years. The Covid shutdown coincided with my final working days at IBM. Soon after, I began writing, creating little vignettes like an artist experimenting with doodles. Somehow, the author's spark appeared. Seemingly from nowhere, out of nothing, my writing life coalesced, like the first particles after "The Big Bang" creating atoms. And like the first awkward flight of baby robins, my initial attempts faltered."
James Polus is the author of 'The Dream of AO' which is available online at Target, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Walmart and other retailers.

David Cooperrider, the coauthor of 'The Power of Appreciative Inquiry' says questions that focus on the “possible” enable us and others to consistently flourish. Currently, we all have unanswered questions and Appreciative Inquiry offers an alternative way to look into our future using the 4-D cycles. Amin Leiman is offering to hold space for a dialogue about the power of appreciative inquiry as we appreciate and value the best what is, envisioning what might be, dialoguing what should be, and embracing the mystery.

About Us

A Story Club Network is an amalgam of multicultural stories and expressions from around the world. We began in 2019 as a series of social events in The United States and in India. Four events down the road, there was a global lock-down and the venture had to alter plans, restructure, re-design and start off in a new way. The idea was to be able to do the same storytelling events but as virtual shows now. Today, we have completed over 175 episodes on Facebook with 10K+ followers across our network. In this journey A Story Club expanded into a Network of shows including monologue shows, talk shows, discussions and more about authors, their books, history, culture and wellness from different parts of the world.
